Pilsen Art Festival this weekend!!!

This weekend is the Pilsen Art Festival. If you're in Chicago and in the area of 18th and Wood on sat. or sun. i would love for you to stop by, I'll be in booth 4.

The art fest kicks off Friday with a silent auction at the National Museum of Mexican Fine Arts. This is totally a huge deal for me. One of my paintings is not only going to be hung, but auctioned off in a museum? what kind of crazy talk is that? ...more good news is that it's open to the public, starts at 6:30 and there's FREE dinner. If you'd like to come out, i'm sure my nerves could use the support!!

here's some more info from the website:

The first part of the Festival is the silent auction/gala which is always on a Friday evening and is hosted by the National Museum of Mexican Fine Arts. Works by all of the participating artists are auctioned at this event. The media, curators, and artists as well as the event sponsors are all invited to bid, mingle and enjoy dinner and live entertainment. (6:30 PM to 9:30 PM located at 1852 West 19th Street, Chicago, IL.)

The second part of the festival is the two day Art Fair which is on the Saturday and Sunday following the silent auction/gala. The fair is free to the public and is held at the basketball courts on the northeast side of Harrison Park on 18th and Wood.

The fair hosts all of the artists who participated in the silent auction along with a many performing artists which set the mood for the fair. Performers include bands, solo artists, dancers and poets. Community organizations and sponsors also participate in the fair and provide free information about their businesses or organizations as well as present attendees with many free giveaways. There are also food, drinks and activities for the children.
