New Vampire Doll

I've been concentrating on more complicated jointed dolls mainly this year so it's been a real joy to get back to basics with my traditional Freaky Little Things rag dollies for a bit. I missed their odd impassive faces!

Here is Lilith, she has a poly-bead filled ball skirt and cute little distressed metallic wings. She can hold your jewellery or a photo or keepsake for you or just cuddle her fleecy bat, Norman. In the shop later today :o)

Just in time for the new Harry Potter release...

... I present the new design of cabinet for witches or wizards full of supplies for laboratory or kitchen!
We have the usual potion bottles, but also "Transylvania Merlot", "Absinthe", a crate of pumpkins, a bucket of apples, poisonous mushrooms and unicorn horns. The mushrooms are resting on a late issue of "The Daily Prophet", printed on parchment paper.
So dress up your dollhouse for "The half-blood Prince" or simply begin to gather the decorations for next Halloween.

Darkside Soap presents - Miss Congeniality

Ok, let's face it, this one isn't going to win first prize in any beauty contests. The bars are a little chunky with weird edges, the swirls are kinda blobby and the color is just downright bizarre. Is it purple, green, black or blue? Who knows?? What this soap really does have going for it is the scent...wow, it smells nice. The scent is a mix of pomegranate & lavender, kinda a fresh, fruity, flowery smell. If you were to close your eyes & sniff, you'd easily fall in love with this soap...but eventually you're gonna open your eyes and be all grossed out by the appearance.

Alice in Wonkaland!

Traci (a.k.a. Spooky Lane) has curated a HARE raising exhibit (oh, that was bad) at Muddy Waters Cafe in Santa Barbara. It's an Alice in Wonderland/Willy Wonka themed art show! The "Golden Ticket" reception is Saturday night at 7. I got to sneak a peek at some photos of the pieces, and they are super SWEEET!

Hey guys! This is my newie, and I'm quite proud of it! It's an awesome 3D mini wire sculpture with a blood red Swarovski crystal heart enclosed by black enamel copper wire.

As one of the other Dark Team members DreadfulDesigns said to me: it "stole my heart, btw. And maybe a few of my ribs as well."

Gears Tie - OOAK applique vintage zipper neck tie recycle

Ties are such a pain to tie, so why bother? Here's a steampunked zipper tie to ease your woes.

I have cut and layered each gear in detail by hand --6 pcs per gear!-- out of Gold & Black Brocade and patiently top stitched every piece. No embroidery machine was used in the creation of this tie!

♦ The tie is a vintage 80s tie.
♦ Permanent knot.
♦ Built in zipper for easy on/off.
♦ Satin, grey-green in color, with a small subtle box design (Shocking, I know. It is from the 80s after all.)

Dark Love

A very pretty locket with strands of clear ab and light green czech glass faceted beads. The strands fasten with a dragonfly clasp, while the locket opens up as shown in the images to the right.

Necklace measures 19 1/2 inches

House of Doom

How i came up with the name for this necklace is simple. The pendant in the middle reminded me of the old victorian style door knockers you'd see on doors of victorian style homes, of course.

The "Doom" is because i've added to either side black rose and skull charms, hence the name "House of Doom"!

Necklace measures exactly 20 inches in length and fastens with a key and lock toggle clasp.

Black Rose Earrings

These black roses came from another pair of earrings, to make a new pair!

Earrings are designed, using black resin roses and hypo allergenic leverbacks, with yet other pieces that came from a necklace, and that would be the oval metal spacers.

Length of earrings: 3 1/2 inches

Dyed Jade Wire Wrapped Ring

Designed with 20 purple 20 gauge wire and 6mm faceted dyed jade, this makes a really pretty ring!

ALL rings are designed on a wooden mandrel and wire is hammered to ensure durability and strength of ring!

Victorian Earrings

Very much red in every sense of the word! Dangling from ear wires are once again pieces i took from jewelry i was no longer wearing.

These are metal spacers with garnet glass stones in the middle and just below those are 8mm garnet faceted teardrops. Earrings measure 3 1/4 inches in length and are hypo allergenic!

Four Skulls Choker

The centerpiece was taken from a old bracelet i used to have and wanted to use it for something else. This is a choker that fits any neck size because all you do is tie it off in the back, and voila! you're good to go!

A great piece for the guys also!

Review: KitCameo.Etsy.com

I won one of Kit's Twitter hunts recently (watch for more at http://twitter.com/KitCameo). The prize was a tiny little acid etched bottle that was filled with black liquid and hanging on a satin cord. The hunt ended Saturday evening, she shipped first thing Monday morning (from CA to KY) and it was in my hands Wednesday morning. Wow! She is fast!
Kit sent me a message to let me know that the package had been shipped and to expect it soon. I also received a follow up to make sure I had received it. It was great to know that she didn't just drop the box in the mail and forget about it.
The bottle was carefully packaged. It was in a small decorative pouch, inside a self sealing bag, wrapped up in bubble wrap, and tucked inside a small box. NOTHING was going to break that baby!
Now, on to the craftsmanship! This particular bottle is around 2" tall, including the cork. The letters are perfectly formed and very legible against the black liquid inside the vial. The etching is smooth to the touch, you could almost mistake it for paint. She even included an extra cork!
My bottle is on the left - the picture does not do it justice, though!

 

With this being a giveaway instead of a paid order, I didn't know what to expect in terms of service but Kit did a fabulous job! I would be most confident to recommend her shop to anyone.
