Shop of the Week: LydiaBurris.etsy.com

Award winning and internationally known artist!
In 2005, I traveled to England to receive my Masters of Fine Art.
I make my home in the midwest - showing in galleries, and traveling to various conventions to show and sell my work.
I work in any medium that interests me, and I am often trying new things. I currently work in both 2D and 3D. I have been told that I am one of the most colorful 'dark' artists out there!
I am inspired by fantasy, horror, dreams.

Shop of the Week: IllustratedInk.etsy.com

My name is Leila, and I've been a full time artist since 2006. Most of my creations are inspired by "Day of the Dead", traditional tattoo design, and folk art from around the world. I love color! Catholic icons and symbolism influence much of my work. I put a lot of love and effort into each of my one-of-a-kind pieces. It brings me so much joy to create art everyday! I reside in Austin with my sweetheart, 2 kitties, and a Corgi. :)

Things I adore: carnivals, my Jeep with the top off, thrift shopping, writing actual letters, watermelon, snuggling with my kitty that's soft as a bunny, stacks of musty books, Christmas lights, all birds, old cathedrals, Mexican Coke in a glass bottle....

Shop of the Week: SkellyArtStudios.etsy.com

Step inside the enchantingly spooky world of Marisol McKee and you will find yourself surrounded by artwork with a cultural flair and a myriad of stories to tell. Stemming from an inherently creative upbringing in a California farming community, the reach of artistic influence during Marisol's early years has left an important mark upon much of her raw and foreboding work.
As a first generation American and daughter of Mexican immigrants, McKee's interest in art traces back as far as she can recall, as her parents instilled imaginative ideals at an early age. Marisol remembers back to the late 1970s when she would often spend evenings doodling in a notebook while her dad watched "Starsky and Hutch" on television. As he taught her to draw whimsical birds, her father would lovingly admire the work that she cleverly filled her pages with. A serious man by nature, it was during these art-filled nights when she would see his contemplative disposition suddenly immersed in giggles and smiles... Read more here.

Shop of the Week: SwampratPhotography.etsy.com

We are a couple from cleveland who are into sleazy rock'n'roll, vintage things, "the good ol' days," kitsch and low brow art, backwoods hillbilly nonsense, and creepy stuff. Our tastes are reflected in our photography, as you can see! We especially like going on adventures and taking pictures in weird, abandoned places.

Shop of the Week: StudioSFineArt.etsy.com

...I've been an artist all my life, since I first began scribbling comics and cartoons in a cheap, ill-suited Mead composition book. I was always drawing and, naturally, as time passed, my artistic leanings became a bit more serious until I decided I'd probably try and attend an art school instead of a liberal arts college. Eventually, I was awarded a scholarship to the Columbus College of Art and Design. I left that school, however, to pursue writing... Read more here.

Shop of the Week: ParadiseLost.etsy.com

I am an artist living in the SF Bay Area.
It is hard to put into words why I need to paint and draw things that are dark or evil. The best way I know to explain is that they are an attempt to find good by contrast.
The world without those opposing elements is not one I care to live in.

As you look thru my little shop you will see a variety of things. It all depends on my mood as to what the finished piece ends up as. I work full time and this is my version of stress release. Shop of the Week: TheZombified.etsy.com

Krystal Fancey Beck (aka the elusive Zombie) is the mad genius creator behind all of the artwork and items on The Zombified. Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, she began drawing and creating as soon as she was physically able. As something of a "serial artist" she experimented and continues in experiment in a wide variety of creative mediums and styles, though ultimately tends to favor drawing in ink. She originally started The Zombified in early 2006 with a rough and now out-of-print run of the first issue of the Hallowhaus, before temporarily closing while she relocated and started working on an intense site and product overhaul, reopening again in late 2008. Today, she lives (roughly) in Houston, Texas with her husband and their four feline cohorts.

Shop of the Week: GingerDead.etsy.com

The store's name comes from Calan's comic GingerDead and Friends. The comic characters can be found on many of the greeting cards and comic prints.
The art jewelry features original illustrations drawn in pen and ink on hand formed polymer clay and is in a similar vein as Calan's comic art. Some of the jewelry is hand sculpted in stone clay and painted in acrylics. The art dolls are usually made from clays and mixed media such as found objects and natural elements picked up at local beaches. Other than the cards and prints the things you'll find here are one of a kind and handmade by the artist.

Shop of the Week: ButchvsJoel.etsy.com

I'm a 27 year old guy just returned to the Land of the Free after a year-long adventure in China. I have degrees in English and music, but no formal art training at all... which is great, because now you know I'm not tainted by all that insider art world convention! My favorite subject to paint is the history of Christian art, warped and turned on its head.

Wonderland Glass Lockets

Hello! I realize it's been a while since I've updated, but I'm trying to get back into the swing of things now.  For those of you who don't know, I've been working on my painting lately, and have started on a Wonderland series of acrylic works.  The originals all end up at Hyaena Gallery in Burbank (and are available for sale through their website), but I've decided to get creative with some prints from the series!  I got some new glass lockets that are fully reversable, and I thought it might be fun to make some mini prints of my artwork to put in them!  The mini prints are each hand-signed, and have been made into magnets so that they are easily stored but not easily lost.  I started with the Cheshire Cat print!
The idea with these pendants is that you can change out the print whenever you like, or even put a photo behind it to make it reversable!  Once you remove the print, all you have to do is place it on a magnetic surface to make sure it doesn't get lost.  Once I have finished a few more of the Wonderland paintings, I'll be listing sets of 5 mini print mangets on a small magnetic stand that you can place on your vanity for safekeeping.  You will never have to buy another pendant to get the design you want, just purchase the mini print sets and use the same pendant over and over!

I'm going to try to get at least three more paintings finished by the end of this month, so be on the lookout for the mini print sets in any of my shops in the beginning of March!

Thanks for looking!

Black Cat and Raven Mystical Magickal Print

This is a print I'm listing on Etsy under my seller ID Whimsyarts. The original painting was a watercolor/ink creation and the print is 8" x 10" with a border for framing.
Whereas the cat represents mystery, magic and independence and the raven represents magic and creation, I think they're a natural couple under the light of the Moon Goddess.
I'll be listing more wicca and totem art in the near future.
